【三之亟】の見どころ紹介(折り紙編)

前回の紹介に続き、今回は館内にございます「折り紙」についてのご紹介です。
折り紙とは…
7世紀初めに大陸から伝わった紙の製法から「和紙」が生まれ、
写経や記録のために使われた紙が神事の際のお供物など
様々なものを紙で包むようになり、包んだとき紙に折り目が
つくことに着目し、包みを美しく折って飾る儀礼折が生まれたことが
始まりとされており、やがて礼法や決まりから離れ、
折り方そのものを楽しむようになりました。
“Washi” was born from paper manufacturing methods
introduced from the continent in the early 7th century,
and paper used for sutra copying and recording came to be
used to wrap various items such as offerings
at Shinto rituals.
It is said that the origins of the ritual fold,
which beautifully folds and decorates the wrapping,
originated from the folds on the paper when it is wrapped.
It is said that this was the beginning of the paper
folding tradition, which eventually moved away from
the rules and regulations of etiquette.
The origins of the ritual folding tradition can be traced
back to the time when people began to enjoy the art of
folding itself.
